I worshiped you in summertime,

Your waters bathed with light

Sun-gaze full, verdant clothed your banks

And enchantment ruled the night

I reverenced you in autumn,

Your waters grew wise and deep

A whispered chill, leaves grew red and gold

And turning, you sighed toward sleep

I recalled you in wintertime,

Your waters full and dark

Cloud-full the skies, rains plentiful,

Your beauty austere and stark

I returned to you in springtime,

Your waters flush and full

Soul reborn in spring, life burgeoning,

Lady Willamette, makes us whole
